BT Email Error 522 – what it means and how to fix it

You can access BT Mail from any internet-enabled device. But when logging in from overseas or on public Wi-Fi, take extra care. Connections abroad are often not secure.

If we detect an insecure or untrusted connection, we’ll show an error 522 message. This may happen if we’ve seen suspicious activity on that connection or if someone used it to send spam.

If you see a 522 error, switch to a secure connection. Update your password as a precaution, and do it from a secure location.

Always sign out completely using the Sign Out link. This is especially important on public or shared computers to keep your account safe.
