  2. select Log In to access settings
  3. enter the username and password - the default username and password is admin
  4. select System then Device Information
  5. you'll see the number associated with the SIM in your hub

Change your WiFi network name

This is how you change the WiFi network name on your hub and set it up as a WiFi hotspot:

  1. connect the hub to your computer via a cable or WiFi connection
  2. launch a web browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1/ then click the magnifying glass icon or press Enter
  3. from the homepage, select Change your BT 4G Home Hub SSID and password
  4. enter your username and password, then select Log In
  5. select the SSID field under the required frequency 2.4GHz or 5GHz
  6. enter the network name
  7. select the Security dropdown and select the security type, for example WPA2
  8. select the WiFi Key field and enter the password
  9. select Apply and if prompted, select OK

The WiFi network name has been changed and the BT 4G Home Hub has been set up as a WiFi hotspot, so you can access the internet wirelessly from your devices.

Change the WiFi channel

If you want to avoid interference from neighbouring networks, you can change the WiFi channel on your hub:

  1. connect your Hub to your computer via a cable or WiFi connection
  2. launch a web browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1/ then press Enter
  3. select LOG IN HERE to access settings
  4. enter your username and password, then select Log In
  5. select WLAN then Advanced Settings
  6. select the Channel dropdown then select the channel and select Apply

Just so you know, most WiFi routers in the UK use channels 1, 6 and 11 as these are the default channels for 2.4GHz WiFi networks. We recommend trying these channels first, before any others.

Forgotten the hub’s WiFi details?

Don’t worry, you can find your default WiFi details at the back of your hub. If you still can't connect, you may have to do a full reset - see below; this resets the hub back to its default settings.

A full reset will delete your personal configuration settings on your Hub. It'll also restore the web-based management settings to their default values.

How to do a Full Reset of your hub

  1. turn the hub so the bottom of it is facing upwards
  2. using a paperclip or pen, press and hold the Reset button for about five seconds
  3. the hub will restart automatically - any changes you’ve made will be reset to factory settings

Update the software for your hub

Keeping your software up to date can help protect against viruses and hackers. To update the software:

  1. connect your BT 4G Home Hub to your computer via a cable or WiFi
  2. open a web browser and type http://192.168.1.1/ into the address bar then press Enter
